Patriotic Pies: Military Charities
By Averitt Careers on Jan 23, 2024 12:00:00 PM
At Averitt, our commitment to supporting veterans and active military service members is at the forefront of our values. We recently had the honor of participating in some remarkable community service projects, each designed to bring joy and appreciation to those who have selflessly served our country.
We’re honored to have played a role in a special mission – transporting Moon Pies from fellow Tennessee-based Chattanooga Bakery to the soldiers stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This initiative is part of the Patriotic Pie project by Chattanooga Bakery, where schools engage in fundraising efforts by selling boxes of Moon Pies. Purchasers could choose to send their orders directly to military personnel, bringing a bit of sweetness to soldiers.
This year, 10,000 boxes of Moon Pies were purchased. We were excited and honored to use our military-themed trailer to deliver the Moon Pies to Fort Campbell in late November. Missions like these further our commitment to our nation’s servicemen and servicewomen. We take pride in being part of a legacy that spans over a century, focusing on community and shared moments of kindness.
Are you a veteran or a military spouse looking for a place to jumpstart your career? Or are you just looking for a team that is committed to giving back? Averitt might be the place for you!

Averitt Veterans Day 2023
By Averitt Careers on Nov 10, 2023 2:00:00 PM
Today and every day, we take the time to celebrate our associates who have served in the military.
In total, about 15% of Averitt associates are military veterans. We know our team is stronger when veterans wear the Averitt uniform, so we cultivate an atmosphere of support and structure for our military associates to have solid, long-term, rewarding careers. From our pledge to hire veterans to creating a culture that best supports our nation’s service members, Averitt’s commitment to veterans encompasses everything we do.
Thank you to the associates and families of our associates who have served!

Averitt Cares For Kids—This Year’s Contributions
By Averitt Careers on Nov 1, 2023 8:00:00 AM
Averitt Cares for Kids is a non-profit charitable giving organization funded by and on behalf of our associates. This year, Averitt associates have been able to donate $1,200,001 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the largest donation in the history of our partnership. Additionally, since the beginning of Averitt’s partnership with St. Jude in the 90s, we’ve raised more than $11 million total.
We were also able to donate enough Play-Doh to last St. Jude an entire year and foster children’s creativity at St. Jude’s.
All of this is made possible through the power of one program, where associates elect to have $1 per week contributions deducted from their payroll on a weekly basis, associate contributions, company contributions made in recognition of associates' accomplishments, participation in Team Up Community Challenge projects, and life events.
Thanks to our associates and this partnership, these children and their families have hope for the future!
